Tree of Angels

When and Where

The Tree of Angels Ceremony will take place on December 5, 2019, at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church, 10066 Marsh Lane, Dallas, TX 75229

What is the Tree of Angels Ceremony?

In 1991, the Tree of Angels was initiated in Austin, Texas by Verna Lee, Executive Advisor of People Against Violent Crime, to recognize that the holiday season is a difficult time for victims and their families. This special event in December honors surviving victims of violent crime and victims' families by making it possible for loved ones to bring an Angel to place on a special Christmas tree. It is our hope that the Tree of Angels allows us to remember, include and support victims of crime. These innocent victims are a part of our lives and a part of the community. Since its inception, the Tree of Angels has become a memorable tradition observed in many Texas communities.

In Dallas, The Tree of Angels Ceremony is held in December and provides members of the community who have lost loved ones to homicide an opportunity to commemorate their memories and learn more about crime victim rights. This ceremony receives anywhere from 175 to 250 victims and advocates annually.

What is the cost?

There is no cost to attend.  The Crime Victims Council is a 501c3 organization and relies on generous supporters, donors and sponsors.
